摘要: The present study was undertaken to investigate the herbicidal potential of aqueous and methanolic extracts culm plus leaves root Pennisetum purpureum against two selected weed species; Hedyotis verticillata Leptochloa chinensis under laboratory glasshouse conditions. Extracts in different solvents plant tissues exhibited markedly variable activities target species. Methanolic inhibited germination L. by 50% at a concentration as low 0.07 0.47g/L, respectively. Radicle growth strongly suppressed extract. extract were proven highly phytotoxic H. where green colour leaf disc reduced less than 0.1g/L. Aqueous 150g/L seedling but inhibition provided this concentration. results suggest that P. can be used natural herbicide for management.
