摘要: MRI offers many opportunities for noninvasive in vivo measurement of structure-function relationships the human brain. Although automated methods are now available whole-brain measurements, an efficient and valid automatic method volume estimation subregions such as frontal or temporal lobes is still needed. We adapted Talairach atlas to study brain subregions. supplemented with additional boxes include cerebellum. assigned all 1 12 regions interest (ROIs) (frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital lobes, cerebellum, subcortical on right left sides brain).Using T1-weighted MR scans collected SPGR sequence (slice thickness = 1.5 mm), we manually traced these ROIs produced estimates. then transformed into space compared volumes by two ({open_quotes}traced{close_quotes} versus {open_quotes}automatic{close_quotes}). The measurements were considered be {open_quotes}gold standard{close_quotes} against which compared. was found produce that nearly identical method. absolute methods, well sensitivity specificity also themore » cerebral blood flow obtained through [{sup 15}O]H{sub 2}O PET studies a sample nine subjects. Absolute very similar, high regions. values similar both methods. atlas-based measuring produces results manual techniques. 39 refs., 4 figs., 3 tabs.« less
