摘要: This paper presents an investigation of rural and suburban expressway intersection safety in Nebraska. The authors collected data on 41 at-grade, two-way stop controlled signalized intersections for the period 1988-2000. A variety sources including as-built design plans, photo-logs, aerial photos, traffic engineering studies, counts, speed plats (maps indicating limits), crash records were used to construct a rich database. New constructed Nebraska over course study duration. These included database once their construction was completed. resembles panel which new observational units are added period. Combined separate models formulated. Modeling results indicated that total volume (exposure) certain roadway geometric characteristics influential crashes approaches. discuss limitations research suggest improvements future.
