摘要: Valuable information about proto-oncogenes and their physiological function has been obtained by studying expression in normal cells. However, of the c-mos gene, cellular homologue transforming gene Moloney murine sarcoma virus, not detected mouse cells or tissues. The conservation open reading frame strongly indicates that must during some portion animal life cycle, other lines evidence suggested to us proto-oncogene may be expressed at very low levels We have used a sensitive S1 nuclease assay screen RNA preparations from tissues describe here detection c-mos-related transcripts especially embryos, testes ovaries. found testis are estimated approximately 1.7 kilobases (kb) long Northern analysis. analysis demonstrated entire mos is present. In contrast, we detect 1.4-kb ovary least two major transcripts, 2.3 1.3 kb, embryo RNA. latter common sequences 1 representing most frame. variation size transcript different suggests novel regulatory mechanism for this proto-oncogene.
