摘要: This study draws on video recordings of interaction in footbath volunteering, an activity that was performed at many emergency shelters after the Great East Japan Earthquake, which occurred March 11, 2011. In this activity, volunteers massaged evacuees’ hands while bathing their feet to provide them with a few moments relaxation. It important for engage conversation evacuees performing service. We explore ways organizing these two subactivities parallel (hand massaging/foot and conversing), focusing (a) practices production utterances regarding ongoing massaging, (b) compromising progression massaging. Based explorations, we propose are organized as multidimensionally asymmetrical. Data Japanese English translation.
