摘要: Yeast products may serve as functional ingredients due to their benefits on host health but vary greatly in source, composition, and functionality, justifying research species of interest. In this study, a Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation product (SCFP) was investigated dietary supplement for adult dogs. Adult female beagles (n = 12; mean age 3.3 ± 0.8 yr; BW 10.3 0.68 kg) were fed the same diet, supplemented with three levels SCFP (125, 250, 500 mg/d) or placebo (sucrose) via gelatin capsules replicated 4 × Latin square design. Fecal samples nutrient digestibility, fecal characteristics microbial populations well blood immune indices collected after 21-d adaptation phase each period. A separate palatability test conducted examine an SCFP-containing diet (0.2% diet). All data, except analyzed by Mixed Models procedure SAS (version 9.4). paired t-test analyze data from test. Supplementation did not affect total tract apparent macronutrient energy digestibilities characteristics. phenol + indole concentrations decreased linearly dosage (P < 0.05). Relative abundance Bifidobacterium greater 0.05), while Fusobacterium lower 0.05) SCFP-supplemented Total white cell counts The percentage natural killer cells antigen-presenting altered SCFP. However, when comparing control vs. all treatments, dogs had major histocompatibility complex class II presenting B monocyte than IFN-γ secreting helper cytotoxic T increased consumption Immune derived produced less TNF-α those stimulated agonists toll-like receptors 2, 3, 4, 7/8. linear increase serum IgE noted. test, 1.9:1 ratio observed demonstrating preference Results study suggest that supplementation be beneficial positively altering gut microbiota, enhancing capacity reducing inflammation.
