摘要: Background Quality indicators (QIs) and risk management are important tools for a quality system designed to reduce errors in laboratory. This study aimed show the effectiveness of QI-based continual improvement pre-analytical processes Kayseri Public Health Laboratory (KPHL) which serves family physicians collects samples from peripheral sampling units. Methods QIs process were used assessment with failure modes effects analysis (FMEA) method. Percentages priority numbers (RPNs) quantified. QI percentages compared International Federation Clinical Chemistry Medicine (IFCC) performance specifications RPNs level scale, corrective actions planned if needed. The treatment was re-evaluated new predefined QIs. Results related four required action according evaluation scale. After treatment, achieved "transcription errors", levels "misidentified samples" "not properly stored "hemolyzed samples". "Not had highest score because sample storage centrifugation problems units not under responsibility KPHL. Conclusions health laboratories may have different priorities process. Risk based on can decrease increase as evidence-based examples
