摘要: There is growing evidence that the food environment can influence diets. The present study aimed to assess relative availability and prominence of healthy foods (HF) versus unhealthy products (UP) in supermarkets Buenos Aires, Argentina explore differences by retail characteristics neighborhood income level. We conducted store audits 32 randomly selected retails. Food (presence/absence, ratio cumulative linear shelf length for HF vs. UP) inside (location visibility) were measured based on International Network Obesity/NCDs Research, Monitoring Action Support (INFORMAS) protocol. On average, every 1 m UP, there was about 25 cm (HF/UP ratio: 0.255, SD 0.130). UP more frequently available high-prominence areas (31/32 retails) than (9/32 retails). Shelf differed across commercial chains (p = 0.0268), but not size or type. Retails lower-income neighborhoods had a lower HF/UP those higher-income 0.0329). Availability overcome largely particularly high areas, with level, which may pose an opportunity public health interventions.
