摘要: Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of injury and death. Previous research has shown that motor result in substantial mortality, with 22,912 occupants killed 2012 the United States, an estimated 265,000 years potential life lost 2011 (CDC's Web-Based Injury Statistics Query Reporting System [WISQARS], unpublished data, 2014). The medical cost such fatalities was $226 million. Because burden nonfatalinjuries caused by been less well documented, this report estimates U.S. health work loss costs nonfatal crash injuries; most recent available data on emergency department (ED) visits hospitalizations were examined.
