摘要: With the accelerating deployment of optical fibers in telephone access networks comes a need for strategies upgrading these from handling telephones only to providing broad-band services. Successful must meet both technical and financial goals1. Fortunately, attainment goals has been aided by progress digital compression technology, which greatly reduces bandwidth required broadband services2. In this paper we demonstrate passive network3 (PON) serving 16 network units (ONUs) modification system described previously4. The PON provides 39 Mbit/s outbound 3 return each ONU. These bit rates are sufficient allow O N U receive, example, several compressed video channels, requiring 4-6 Mbids, send multiple teleconferencing calls at 384 kbit/s apiece. choice components architecture is intended cost-effective solution upgrade problem.
