摘要: In order to determine temperatures of mullitization and cordierite formation, outline the reaction sequence by which is formed, effects prolonged heating on development structure, two separate series experiments were performed. Specimens fired for 1 hour at temperature intervals between 1000° 1360°C. analyzed mullite X-ray diffraction purpose correlation with differential thermal analyses. also four different periods 192 hours content structural changes. Mullitization occurred exothermic 1267°C. Endothermic peaks 1238° 1330°C. are attributed formation cordierite. Prolonged-heating studies indicated that a progressive change takes place in metastable hexagonal form converted time, through all intermediate stages, orthorhombic stable temperature. Temperature was apparently critical factor development, time being greater importance lower temperatures.
