摘要: Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF15) is a divergent member of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily and ubiquitously expressed, under normal physiological conditions. GDF15 expression increases during many pathological states serves marker cellular stress. has multiple even paradoxical roles within condition, as its effects can be dose- time-dependent vary based on the targeted tissues downstream pathways. emerged one most recognized proteins part senescence associated secretory phenotype. Cellular plays major role in lung diseases across life-span from bronchopulmonary dysplasia premature neonate to COPD idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis aged adults. levels have been reported useful biomarker chronic obstructive disease, arterial hypertension predict disease severity, decline function mortality. Glial-cell-line-derived neurotrophic factor family receptor alpha-like (GFRAL) brain stem identified only validated mediates GDF15-mediated anorexia wasting. The mechanisms pathways by which exerts are being elucidated. may also an impact changes circulating or through central action activating peripheral metabolic changes. This review focuses different lifespan senescence.
