摘要: Abstract The currently rising sea temperatures are expected to affect the structure of aquatic communities. Through increased metabolic rates, activity and feeding motivation, higher temperature can be add competition predation risk for many small fish juveniles. However, behavioural flexibility e.g. individual variation in expression traits may act buffer detrimental effects temperature. In present study we ask how juvenile Atlantic cod respond food availability at limits their current natural Icelandic coast (3 °C–13 °C). At 13 °C juveniles responded less risk, remaining active, dispersed leaving shelter positions earlier. same time attempts reduce significantly correspondingly lower Therefore, our results suggest that do not adjust behaviour manage motivation while under risk. find evidence is expressed across treatments indicating could selection. conclusion, have both immediate negative on survival initiate a selective response populations.
