摘要: The separate and combined effects of weight-bearing exercise hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on bone mineral density (BMD) were studied in 32 women, 60 to 72 years age. HRT consisted continuous conjugated estrogens 0.625 mg/day trimonthly medroxyprogesterone acetate 5 for 13 days. Exercise 2 months low-intensity followed by 9 more vigorous approximately 45 minutes/day, > or = 3 days/week, at 65-85% maximal heart rate. Lumbar spine proximal femur BMD significantly increased response HRT, total body was HRT; neither nor had an effect wrist BMD. combination + resulted all sites except the wrist, with being additive lumbar Ward's triangle synergistic body. Based reductions serum osteocalcin levels, it appears that increases due decreased turnover. lack change IGF-I alone suggests resorption not formation. Results indicate may be effective preventing and/or treating osteoporosis. It is likely accretion, coupled other adaptations (i.e., strength functional capacity), could effectively reduce incidence falls osteoporotic fractures.
