摘要: Abstract Background An increased risk of malignancy in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus has been reported, but rarely Asian populations. We aimed to investigate the relative cancer and identify high-risk group for lupus. Methods conducted a retrospective, nationwide cohort study that included 11,763 without history malignancies, using national health insurance database Taiwan from 1996 2007. Standardized incidence ratios (SIRs) cancers were analyzed. Results A total 259 observed elevated among those was noted (SIR 1.76; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.74-1.79), especially hematologic malignancies 4.96; CI 4.79-5.14). Younger had greater ratio than general population, decreased age. The time, yet remained compared population. non-Hodgkin lymphoma greatest 7.27) cancers. Among solid tumors, vagina/vulva 4.76), nasopharynx 4.18), kidney 3.99). less common cancers, including brain, oropharynx, thyroid glands, also observed. Conclusion Patients are at should receive age- gender-appropriate evaluations, additional assessment vulva/vagina, kidney, nasopharynx, malignancy. Continued vigilance development follow-up is recommended.
