摘要: The effects of an inorganic selenium salt on phagocytic functions human neutrophilic granulocytes from donors with a low activity glutathione peroxidase have been investigated. Granulocytes were exposed for 60 min in vitro to sodium selenite two physiological concentrations (100 and 200 ng Se/ml) one unphysiologically high concentration (2000 ng/ml). spontaneous chemotactic migration, the nitroblue tetrazolium reduction, phagocytosis fluorescein-labeled yeast particles intracellular killing staphylococci then studied such compared control cells, which had not selenium. migration reduction abilities affected by exposure. bactericidal activities significantly increased concentrations. However, at 2000 Se/ml these found be equal or lower than levels. Thus supplementation might enhance granulocytes, thereby improving host defense against bacterial infections.
