摘要: This essay examines the English-Canadian nationalist intelligentsia’s reaction to Americanization and attempt reclaim Canadian sovereignty during 1960s 1970s. Ranging from moderate radical, so-called “new nationalism” I boomed as English-Canadians indulged in producing consuming Canadiana. While movement failed its political goals, it succeeded drawing attention domestic problems providing a “Peaceable Kingdom” sense of place time national renegotiation international insecurity.
