摘要: Western Madagascar is subjected to a long, dry winter season which coincides with food scarcity. We investigated the effect of this seasonal variation in availability on home ranges blue-eyed black lemurs (Eulemur flavifrons) Sahamalaza-Iles Radama National Park, north-western Madagascar. It was expected that range would increase and overlap more season. The study conducted an area rainforest from September 2006 March 2008 five lemur groups. Animals were located by direct observation geographical locations recorded determine daily path length sizes groups respective seasons. Daily size varied significantly between greater (673.4 ± 539.2 m) than wet (423.6 183.2 m). Home overlapped both seasons, but larger during (MCP: 7.5 6.6 ha, 95% Kernel: 8.5 ha) 3.0 1.6 4.1 ha). There no clear relationship group either or Seasonal changes are likely be consequence reduced Compared other primates, including some species, relatively small.
