摘要: It has been hypothesized that self-concept influences ability to learn. This experiment systematically manipulated the self-concepts of learners regarding their abilities learn a foreign language and measured subsequent learning synthetic vocabulary list. Eleven Ss were randomly assigned each three groups: raised, lowered, control. college freshman who not enrolled in course or had previously taken more than one semester language. Self-concepts as self-description raised lowered by providing false scores on aptitude test. Learning was performance paired-associates task utilizing random shapes CVCs. with learned slowly control self-concepts.
