摘要: OBJECTIVES To determine the etiological agents of diarrhea in children from a small semi-urban city Libya and association age, gender, seasonal variation, breast-feeding, source water for drinking, or antibiotic use with isolation enteropathogens whether such are community hospital acquired. METHODS Using standard microbiological techniques we examined stool samples 169 (70 females) aged few days to 12 years acute viral, bacterial parasitological agents. We used disc diffusion method susceptibility pathogens antimicrobial carried out study between April 2000 March 2001. RESULTS We detected single agent 44.4%, rotavirus 26.6%, Salmonella 13.6%, Cryptosporidium 13% patients other enteric pathogens, Shigella 3.6%, Aeromonas 5.5%, Entamoeba histolytica/dispar 11.8, Giardia lamblia 1.2%. Serotyping isolated resulted 21 being serotype heidelberg 3 enteritidis. both serotypes one child. More than 75% were resistant 6 different commonly agents. CONCLUSIONS found rotavirus, non-typhoid be most important associated childhood Zliten. The showed high rates, particularly among Salmonella, ease which can obtain these drugs Zliten may play role resistance.
