Population study of tender point counts and pain as evidence of fibromyalgia.

摘要: Abstract Objective: To determine the relation between tender points, complaints of pain, and symptoms depression, fatigue, sleep quality in general population. Design: Two stage cross sectional study with an initial questionnaire about pain to classify those eligible for examination points. Setting: practices north west England. Subjects: Stratified random sample adults from age-sex registers. Of responders, 250 were selected points on basis their reported complaints; 177 subsequently participated. Main outcome measures - Tender point count (0 18) grouped into four categories highest (>=11) corresponding criteria American College Rheumatology fibromyalgia. Assessment (chronic widespread, regional, none). Measures difficulty sleeping. Results: Women had a higher median (six) than did men (three). Counts who no widespread compared regional pain.
