Toxicological studies on silver nanoparticles: challenges and opportunities in assessment, monitoring and imaging

摘要: Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are becoming increasingly prevalent in consumer products as antibacterial agents. The increased use of Ag NP-enhanced may lead to an increase toxic levels environmental silver, but regulatory control over the or disposal such is lagging due insufficient assessment on toxicology NPs and their rate release into environment. In this article we discuss recent research transport, activity fate at cellular organismic level, conjunction with traditional recently established methods nanoparticle characterization. We include several proposed mechanisms cytotoxicity based studies, well new opportunities for investigating uptake living systems.
