摘要: Summary To characterise self-reported levels of stress and autonomic responses in healthy humans evoked by different rates the Paced Auditory Serial Addition Task (PASAT). Fifteen participants performed PASATs with (3·6-, 2·4-, 1·6- or 1·2-s intervals) a control task, random order. Correct responses, to were estimated. Increased PASAT associated decreases correct (P < 0·001) increases (P < 0·001). For significant changes seen 10 variables during 2·4-s compared respective baseline; however, differences relative from baseline found between task only for mean RR-intervals (P < 0·001), systolic diastolic blood pressure (P = 0·002 P = 0·006) cardiac output Regarding comparison four PASATs, 3·6-s faster example RR-intervals, high-frequency power respiration rate; there no PASATs. The quite similar (intervals < 2·4 s); slowest significantly less arousal Standardization rate may be important studies on nervous system function measures stress. Future test more complex interactions stress, pain responses.
