摘要: Objective: The aim of this study is to gain a better understanding the risk factors influencing success clinical information system projects. Methods: This addresses issue by first reviewing extant literature on technology project risks, and second conducting Delphi survey among 21 experts highly involved in projects Quebec, Canada, region where government have invested heavily health technologies recent years. Results: Twenty-three were identified. absence champion was factor that felt most deserves their attention. Lack commitment from upper management ranked second. Our panel also confirmed importance variable has been extensively studied systems, namely, perceived usefulness third. Respondents ambiguity fourth. fifth-ranked associated with poor alignment between systems’ characteristics organization work. large majority itself considered less important. finding supports idea technology-associated rarely figure main reasons for failure. Conclusions: In addition providing comprehensive list relative importance, presents major contribution unifying systems medical infor - matics. checklist provides basis further research may help practitioners identify effective countermeasures mitigating risks implementation systems.
