摘要: Selection logging is a principal management scheme in natural teak-bearing forests Myanmar. Monitoring the spatial extent and intensity of selection important for sustainable forest management. This study applied normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) image differencing method using two SPOT-5 pan-sharpened images (2.5 m resolution) taken October 2007 January 2009 to analyze canopy changes associated with damage from harvesting. According pixel-based analysis, NDVI were larger most road/log landing points whereas smaller seen unlogged points. teak stump areas related distance road number stumps within estimated crown area (a circular 10 m radius center each stump). A Fisher’s exact test showed that one main factors causing high change was effect construction. The distribution pattern indicated contained more than had mean NDVI. spectral between before after revealed roads greater on stumps.
