摘要: Essential oil (EO) was hydrodistillated using a Clevenger-type apparatus and chemically determined gas chromatography (GC) GC/mass spectrometry. The analysis of the EO from leaves Pistacia terebinthus has indicated that α-pinene (19.97%), sabinene (15.43%), β-pinene (8.57%) terpinen-4-ol (9.65%) are major compounds in concern. In antibacterial disc diffusion assay, revealed broad spectrum activity on growth both gram-positive gram-negative bacteria when compared with standard antibiotics. Likewise, insecticidal significant observed two important pest insects, Acanthoscelides obtectus Tribolium castaneum. A 100% mortality found at 160 μL/L air dose for T. castaneum 48-h A. obtectus 72-h exposure periods, respectively. Practical Applications Various parts L. belonging to Anacardiaceae family edible contribute benefits invaluable potentialities Mediterranean life. Leaves this tree consumed as either fresh or cooked. biological potential essential P. grown Eastern region not been assessed so far. present assays P. terebinthus contains bioactive against insects suggesting its use food processing preservation.
