Simultaneous stress and mass change measurements arising from laser induced detuning of a quartz crystal microbalance

摘要: We report a study of the frequency response AT and BT cut Quartz Crystal Microbalances (QCMs) to laser illumination. QCMs have similar mass adsorption but opposite stress levels, allowing individual contributions desorption induced by light be quantitatively investigated. A detailed analysis transient thermal behaviors in quartz crystals has also been performed, which yields levels that are consistent with observed results. Our results confirm previous suggestions radial compressive is dominant contributor QCM They establish theoretical framework for phenomenon infer temperature shifts system irrespective whether both utilized.
