摘要: Two most challenging problems facing transportation planners and policymakers in many developing countries are rapid urban traffic growth lack of financial technical resources to conduct major planning studies, especially for assessing the impacts new sites land-uses. The conventional process, which is data time intensive, has been little value due related obstacles (inadequate database, funds, inadequate expertise, etc.). Advances computer technology, areas Geographic Information Systems (GIS), offer ways dealing with aforementioned problems. This paper presents a methodology conducting studies countries. Integrating TransCAD, well-known GIS software applications, Excel, spreadsheet software, model starts by estimating an Origin-Destination (O-D) table from counts at base year. Then, modified O-D obtained simple procedure before determining assignment, taking into consideration land uses. was developed applied regional Gaza Strip, Palestine. A flexible, yet vigorous mechanism needed assist their efforts plan that highly populated area poor old highway network. results verification work conducted after each step during development have acceptable. Moreover, experts who live complete validation results.
