Activation of polyubiquitin gene expression during developmentally programmed cell death

摘要: Ubiquitin, a highly conserved 76 amino acid protein, plays role in targeting intracellular proteins for degradation. Ubiquitin expression was examined during the developmentally programmed atrophy and degeneration of intersegmental muscles (ISMs) hawk-moth, Manduca sexta. A clone containing nine repeats ubiquitin coding sequence isolated from an ISM cDNA library used as probe to examine polyubiquitin development. When ISMs became committed degenerate, gene increased dramatically. Injection 20-hydroxyecdysone, which delays this system, prevented increase mRNA. The occurred without apparent activation cell's heat shock response. These data suggest that cell death.
