摘要: Introduction Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement is one of the recommended methods for providing enteral feeding in patients with swallowing difficulty and intact gastrointestinal tract. We review our three years experience pertaining to PEG hospital. Methods Records all patients, who underwent between May 2014 September 2017, were reviewed relevant clinical procedural details noted. For procedure was conducted under antibiotic prophylaxis, moderate sedation, local anesthesia. The placed by “pull up” method. Telephonic follow-up carried out after month study completion. Results The 73 (male 51 [69.9%]; age median [range] 67 [16–91] years). 42 stroke (57.6%), other neurologic disorders 17 (23.3%), coma due head injury 5 (6.8%), terminal malignancy 9 (12.3%). Technical success achieved (97%) patients. Eleven procedure-related complications occurred nine (15.5%) including death peritonitis. Of 57 could be followed-up discharge, 41 died their primary illness 65 (1–751) days, alive continuing on feed, seven removed because it not needed. Conclusion PEG a useful feeding. Although high, may accompanied significant complications.
