摘要: Aim: To evaluate changes in pharyngeal airway space (nasopharynx and oropharynx), soft palate lingual vallecula after maxillary advancement surgery mandibular setback (bimaxillary surgery). Methods: Twenty Class III adult patients were included the study. Ten treated with ten bimaxillary (maxillary setback). Cephalometric landmark measurements recorded at 3 different time intervals: pre-surgical, post-surgical six months surgery. Data collected subjected to one-way ANOVA (p<0.05). Results: Nasopharyngeal increased decreased There was increase oropharyngeal dimensions region around uvula loss of for vallecula, while Group 2 there diminished both vallecula. The moved forward 1, whereas these structures posterior direction 2. Conclusions: After an nasopharyngeal region. related presented space, a reduction relation forward. Bimaxillary promoted regions as regards direction.
