摘要: This study examined the dynamic characteristics of upper airway collapse at soft palate level in patients with obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) by using 3-Dimensional (3-D) CT imaging. A total 41 male who presented 2 following symptoms, i.e., daytime sleepiness and fatigue, frequent snoring, apnea witness, were diagnosed as having OSAHS. They underwent full-night polysomnography then 3-D imaging during quiet breathing Muller’s maneuver. The length (SPL), minimal cross-sectional area retropalatal region (mXSA-RP), vertical distance from hard to posterior part hyoid (hhL) compared between two states. These parameters, together (HPL), also mild/moderate severe OSAHS groups. Association these parameters severity [as reflected hypopnea index (AHI) lowest saturation blood oxygen (LSaO2)] was examined. results showed that 31 had OSAHS, 10 All obstruction level. mXSA-RP significantly decreased SPL remarkably increased maneuver state. There no significant differences (except position bone) And correlation found. lower group than group. body mass (BMI)≥26 higher ratio mXSA-RP, greater neck circumference smaller those BMI<26 (P<0.05 for all). It concluded could dynamically show changes patients. various degrees But observed change BMI≥26 more likely develop BMI<26.
