摘要: The writer describes the rich cultures of Maoris and South Pacific islanders before influence European culture; he suggests, however, that despite effects colonialism, richness Polynesian has endured. However, Dr Reid argues Western oriented psychometric tests are inadequate tools for identification gifted children; teachers often undervalue parents generally lack confidence experience to be articulate about their children's educational needs. He pleads development an education system in which all recognized appreciated. also educators embrace a broader conception giftedness acknowledges cultural differences.
