摘要: A brief overview is given of current applications flow cytometry (FCM) in marine phytoplankton research. This paper presents a selection highlights and various technical analytical problems we encountered during the past 10 years. In particular, conversion relative values obtained terms size fluorescence applying FCM to quantitative estimates cell size, pigment concentration, genome etc., addressed. The introduction DNA -cell-cycle analysis made easily assessable by has been great importance, allowing situ measurement species specific growth rates. Key questions ecology such as factors determining wax wane bloom can now be better answered mortality. Finally, provides detailed information physiological status individual algal cells. New staining methods enable us distinguish between viable non-viable cells so will help elucidate importance automortality aquatic ecosystems.
