摘要: This study confirms that Australian isolates of Sclerotinia minor can produce fertile apothecia and further demonstrates ascospores collected from these are pathogenic to sunflower (Helianthus annuus). Sunflower is a known host the related fungus sclerotiorum grown in some regions where S. occur. Head rot symptoms were produced following inoculation with ascospores. Predictive modeling using CLIMEX software suggested conditions suitable for carpogenic germination probably occur Australia particularly southern regions. Carpogenic rare event northern and, if it does occur, not coincide anthesis crops, therefore allowing disease escape.
