摘要: Abstract Fourteen patinated copper specimens, seven each from the Statue of Liberty, New York Habor and roofs at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ, ranged atmospheric exposure 1 to 100 years. X-ray diffraction showed presence cuprite, Cu2O, brochantite, Cu4(SO4)(OH)6, all specimens antlerite, Cu3(SO4)(OH)4 (up 0.7 times brochantite), atacamite, Cu2Cl(OH)3 1.6 and/or posnjakite, Cu4(SO4)(OH)6 · 2H2O 5.2 brochantite) some. Posnjakite has been previously reported as a patina component only once during short term exposures Eurasia. It appears be an early corrosion product which subsequently converts brochantite. Mass spectrographic examination gases emitted heated patinas provides further information on composition, particular both carbonate oxalate widely varying ratios.
