Goal adjustment, physical and sedentary activity, and well-being and health among breast cancer survivors

摘要: Objective This longitudinal study examined whether goal adjustment capacities (i.e., disengagement and reengagement) would predict breast cancer survivors' emotional well-being physical health by facilitating high levels of activity low sedentary activity. Methods Self-reports were measured among 176 female survivors at baseline. Self-reports activity, daily affect, symptoms (e.g., nausea or pain) baseline 3-month follow-up. Results Goal reengagement predicted positive affect increases in over 3 months. The combination was associated with particularly large affect. effects on mediated the interaction effect changes activity. Conclusions Goal can exert beneficial adaptive activity. Integrating processes into clinical practice may be warranted. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
