摘要: Biology, the science of life, encompasses stud'), strttcture, flmction, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution living organisms life processes. A disease entity is a process, albeit an abnornml one, its stud)' should include distribution, structure, function, along with other appropriate investigations, from molecular to clinical level. The biologic study distinguish one form another if those forms are, in fact, entities. Biologic studies malignant melanoma indicate that there are different disease. This communication concerned some attributes four common melanomas: lentigo maligna melanoma, acral lentiginous nodula r superficial spreading melanoma. Mucosal similar and, except for location, mucosal melanomas indistinguishable. were evaluated by 44 attributes, including disease; patient's age, sex, race; thickness, level invasion. data set 340 cases called comprehensive review group 1,042 tile initial group. has been reduced 921 cases, reasons relevant this paper. One hundred fourteen (10.9 per cent) could not be classified as type on pathology because biopsy material completely excised lesion had concurrently reviewed findings integrated. Seven which no demonst rable pr imary was found eliminated primary melanomas. In contrast, only nine (2.6%) unclassified. Detailed representative histologic features required proper classification final set, combining groups, consists 1,261 (chart I).
