Students' course grades were partially determined performance their groups. Five characteristics measured correlated risk propensity (the tendency for take risks). Groups more cohesive, potent, ambitious, successful, perceived outside help available valuable, had lower propensities. Risk unrelated how members seemed, willing admit them. riskier than non-rejected individuals, less individuals. 2 (Reason rejection: task vs. social) x (Expectancy: high low) repeated measures design examined affected they seemed who reasons likely occur again (high expectancy) riskier, also among relevant group's orientation (task social). Rejection apparently makes it difficult enter which exacerbate effects rejection.
