摘要: INTRODUCTION When one speaks of targeting skin appendages using topically applied agents/products, is referring to or another (or both) two structures-hair follicles (pilosebaceous units) and/or eccrine sweat glands. Very little information has been published concerning drug delivery to/through glands, whereas follicular received a considerable amount research attention in recent years. This review mainly concerned with the body literature covering targeted delivery. Successful targeting, as phrase used here, simply means getting more molecules into specified appendage action than can be delivered conventional dosage forms (delivery systems). At same time, it implies restricting that reaches therapeutically uninvolved sites, most particularly, systemic circulation. Targeted would useful stem hair loss promote new growth. In principle, agents reach bulb by either transfollicular transepidermal route, former involving diffusion through upper pilosebaceous gland and latter secondary local/systemic distribution follicles. fact, both pathways occur simultaneously cases, but relative contribution each pathway overall seemingly should vary substantially depending upon physicochemical properties therapeutic agent, nature its formulation, specific site topical application, elapsed time after dosing.
