摘要: Melatonin, as a neuroendocrine hormone, is produced primarily by the pineal gland. pleotropic molecule, acts free radical scavenger, antioxidant, and regulator of circadian rhythm in mammals via several receptor-mediated non-receptor-mediated mechanisms. This inexpensive, well-tolerated, multi-target molecule has great therapeutic potential against many diseases. Many evidences have proposed that melatonin plays key role pathophysiology various cardiovascular The aim this paper to discuss data experiments regarding effects management risk factors. PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus been searched for collection using related keywords. Two hundred ten articles were included review from 2253 founded documents. Using these documents, main mechanisms action are discussed summarized article. Also, recent progresses melatonin’s on factors diseases including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, pulmonary atherosclerosis reviewed. studies demonstrated beneficial prevention improving factors, inexpensive well-tolerated drug can be strongly different well metabolic syndrome.
