摘要: The adsorption and reaction of the surface formate species on Ag{111} have been studied using a combination reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy temperature programmed desorption. Four with distinct bonding configurations identified when formic acid is deprotonated by preoxidized at 240 K. Bidentate bridging 2-fold symmetry present low coverage, while monodentate three different degrees tilt are formed sequentially increasing coverage as result dipolar interactions steric crowding. Coadsorption methoxy formate, accomplished nucleophilic displacement methyl atomic O, yields an intermixed phase where interadsorbate minimized tilting suppressed. Monodentate partially decomposes to CO2 325 K reverts bidentate which dehydrogenates 350 give H2.
