摘要: Abstract Sediment–paleosol-sequences are natural archives for a variety of proxies. Sampling profile is thereby primary part in the analysis. The main goal this study to uncover influence sampling resolution on resulting classification profile. Therefore new was investigated nearby famous paleosol-sequences “Stillfried B”. After field interpretation 180 cm sampled with 1 resolution. taken out monolithic block that located orographically left within following laboratory analysis done without referring interpretation, only by an arithmetic distance. From each sample, five particle-sizes and additionally carbonate dithionite iron content were measured. For all seven variables, 5 subsamples centred group mean depth resolutions 5, 10, 15 20 calculated. variable, kriging used interpolate data sets, which constructed from same profile, then cluster According results classical pedological analysis, had be classified into groups. optimising grouping using discriminant classifications lower compared one based measurements. Surprisingly, differences boundaries also acceptable. With exception, agreement also. Taking structural variables account, under investigation, 10 and/or would optimal However, samples include enough information about
