Photo-assisted Electrochemical Degradation of Textile Effluent to Reduce Organic Halide (AOX) Production

摘要: The application of combined electrochemical and photochemical techniques for the degradation real textile effluent is presented. It demonstrated that simultaneous use both techniques, in conjunction with situ generation free chlorine its subsequent photolysis, a promising technique removing color chemical oxygen demand (COD) from effluents. Crucially, combination leads to lower quantities chlorine-containing by-products being produced no overall increase toxicity. Over treatment times studied, up 65 % less chloride-containing are formed while at same time greater rates COD removal achieved.
