摘要: Information and communications technology (ICT) contributes substantially to global greenhouse gas (GHG) pollutant emissions, but it is time-consuming estimate the environmental impacts caused by production of ICT devices, literature lacks coverage for newer products. Using a process-sum life cycle assessment (LCA) approach, we compare embodied GHG emissions 11 products, including large- small-form-factor desktop laptop personal computers, thin client device, an LCD monitor, mobile devices (an Apple iPad, iPod Touch, Amazon Kindle), rack server, network switch. Full bills materials are provided via hand disassembly weighing mapped processes in ecoinvent v2.2 database produce impact estimates.
