摘要: Abstract Unlubricated sliding friction and wear of 440C steels in an oxygen environment have been studied under a variety load, speed temperature ranging from approximately —185 to 675 °C. A specially designed test apparatus with ball-on-flat geometry has used for this purpose. The observed dependencies the initial coefficient friction, average dynamic rate on speed, temperatures examined standpoint existing theories wear. High contact are generated during causing rapid oxidation localized surface melting. combination fatigue, delamination, loss hardness due tempering martensitic structure is responsible high friction.
