摘要: The spontaneous spreading of macroscopic drops nematic liquid crystals on hydrophilic substrates has been investigated by interferometric techniques. There is a complex interplay between the elastic energy, due to antagonist anchoring at interfaces, and radial flow in drop. A relevant parameter appears be relative humidity atmosphere, because it controls amount water molecules adsorbed substrate and, therefore, strength defects. laws differ from ones simple wetting liquids, contact line instabilities coupled short- (anchoring) or large-scale (disclinations) defects film are observed.
