摘要: A patient with chronic myelocytic leukaemia positive for the Philadelphia (Ph-1) chromosome underwent splenectomy in "terminal phase" of his disease. Chromosomal analysis a marrow aspirate obtained during operation showed nothing abnormal. Material from spleen, however, absence C and presence "marker" all metaphases examined. The did well almost three years after splenectomy, serial cytogenetic studies specimens Ph-1 to be only significant abnormality. Six months before death recurrent blastic transformation aneuploidy was found specimen. Subsequently additional abnormalities, including cells two chromosomes, were detected. karyotypic abnormalities splenic specimen, never recurred.
