摘要: To investigate the climatic controls on stable isotope composition of surface waters from Panama, we measured d 18 O and dD river lake collected throughout isthmus. We statistically analyzed data using correlation (nZ162 samples) multiple stepwise regression (nZ148 samples). Variables are O, dD, deuterium-excess (dx), latitude, longitude, sample elevation, stream head median elevation above site, distance Caribbean, length sampling estimated mean annual precipitation, pH. Rainfall Panama City were for temporal variability. Temporally, rainfall values negatively correlated with precipitation amount. Spatially, water decrease an indication progressive rainout as air masses traverse The line is defined dDZ ð7:6G0:09Þ!d OC ð10:1G0:6Þ, identical to that Costa Rica. Respective meteoric lines based monthly ð7:4G0:07Þ!d ð5:5G0:3Þ, ð8:2G0:60Þ!d ð10:6G3:3Þ. conclude dominant control rain associated Central American monsoon spatial amount effects. Surface also show significant correlations drainage basin parameters such latitude longitude. An equation derived relates various physical explains 74‰ observed isotopic variation.
