摘要: A 35-year-old male patient, known in our department since 1979 on account of a severe and complete Behcet's syndrome, was treated with thalidomide (CG-217) as final pharmacological measure to avoid colectomy during attack Behcet colitis. Prior the administration thalidomide, patient had been for 7 weeks full parenteral nutrition high doses steroids intravenously without satisfactory effect Treatment sulphasalazin unsuccessful because decreasing number platelets this drug. After few days 300 mg given once daily at bedtime, patient's stools were normalized reaction blood, his oral ulcers pleural effusion disappeared, steroid could be reduced. Gradually he put again, rectal mucosa became normalized. The dose reduced 200 mg, then 100 when discharged from hospital, less than 3 after institution drug treatment. 5 months an out-patient condition is still symptoms former disease. Thalidomide has previously reported value treatment but my knowledge never such dramatic colitis case.
